It is based on these objectives that the new collection from editora ufsm is structured, entitled “ufsm introductory texts”. In a partnership with the dean of undergraduate studies (prograd), the collection aims to provide a pocket-sized, light and instructive publication for teachers, students and readers who wish to begin their training in a specific area. Introductory texts are characterized by being small and practical, so they can fit anywhere and are easily handled. Its authorship is signed by professors who, for years, have been teaching essential subjects in their respective courses and areas of activity, in an editorial action that also aims to value the work of experienced professors recognized for their teaching and research at ufsm.
The collection is inspired by similar editions published by renowned universities, such as “que sais-je?”, from presses universitaires de france, and “very short introduction”, from oxford university press, as well as introductory series such as “first steps” and “ principles series”. The chromatic pattern of the collection follows the catalog of publications from editora ufsm, in which each area of knowledge is identified by a different color. The graphic design for the collection is designed by visual programmer gilberto de moraes jr.
